DULUTH, GA — The New Atlanta Philharmonic (Artistic Director Eugene Lee) will present a special concert celebrating the 270th anniversary of Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart on May 17 at 6:00 PM at First Baptist Church of Duluth. Program will be conducted under the baton of internationally acclaimed Maestro Eugene Lee, bringing together Mozart’s most iconic works in a single evening performed by international soloists and outstanding young musicians.

The concert is conceived and led by Artistic Director Eugene Lee as a comprehensive presentation of Mozart’s musical legacy, spanning orchestral, concerto, and choral masterworks.

The program opens with the Overture to The Marriage of Figaro, followed by Piano Concerto K.386 performed by pianist Solara Kim, a 9-year-old prodigy from Atlanta. Kim is a first-prize winner of the Carmel Klavier International Piano Competition and the Chicago International Music Competition, among others.

Violinist Charlotte Jeong will perform Mozart’s Violin Concerto No. 3. Jeong, a 16-year-old violinist from Atlanta, is currently studying at the New England Conservatory Preparatory and the Walnut Hill School for the Arts. She is a prize winner of major competitions including MTNA, Georgia Philharmonic, and the Augusta Symphony. Most recently, she won First Prize at the Eleanor B. Nelson Concerto Competition, hosted by the Quincy Symphony Orchestra in Boston, which led to her upcoming concerto performance with the orchestra. She has also performed at Carnegie Hall’s Weill Recital Hall and major festival stages in Europe.

The vocal program includes “Alleluia,” followed by Mozart’s final masterpiece, Requiem, featuring the Elohim Choir in a powerful closing performance.

Mozart’s Requiem will feature soloists Canjingjing Cui (soprano), Maria McDaniel (mezzo-soprano), Taehwan Lee (tenor), and William Lim (baritone). The choir is prepared by Chorus Master Song Lee, and the final performance is conducted by Artistic Director Eugene Lee.

A representative of the New Atlanta Philharmonic stated, “This concert is not only a celebration of Mozart’s legacy, but a reimagining of his music through today’s artists, bridging generations and cultures through a shared musical experience.”
